Shake Your Groove Thing classroom decor theme is vintage and groovy perfection in a polaroid picture. It’s like a record player humming on a rainy afternoon, and wearing bellbottoms for life.

The Inspiration

I started with the neutral checkerboard as the inspiration for this collection.  I then chose soft, muted hues that are trending this season to coordinate with the camel color that we planned to use throughout. 

Mushrooms were a MUST, then went full-out with all the retro goodness we adore at SGS.  Pairing that with the  soft sage, calming blue, and hints of pink made for a dream come true for our neutral-loving teachers.

The Inspiration

I really wanted to create the most gorgeous 70’s floral out there.  My inspiration was my childhood bedroom.  We also studied the Brady Bunch – using Marcia, Jan and Cindy’s bedroom as the starting point of the collection.

 And with Dancing Queen being my favorite song and sweet reminders of me dancing in my living room as a little girl, I knew the disco ball had to be the shining centerpiece of the collection.
