Are you ready for some inspiration? Meet Whitney Kelly from Carlisle, AR! She shared that she is originally from East Texas, but met her hubby (the farmer, as she affectionately calls him), fell in love, then moved to a small farming community in Arkansas. She said that the town that she lives in doesn’t even have a stoplight! Whitney teaches Kindergarten in a town called Hazen. This is her third year of teaching.
Whitney found my site and about a month ago and sent me the sweetest email! Whitney explained that her classroom originally had white, yucky walls. She quickly transformed it by painting it a bright and cheery lime green! I love the color! My eye went straight to her polka dot curtains – I have the same fabric in my classroom! Did you notice the owls? They are the hottest thing in children’s decor right now. The tree is a large decal – I wouldn’t have thought a decal would stick to cinder block, but I was wrong. That is an idea to store away for a future project for sure!
I just love the camping theme and how child-friendly everything appears. I also love how the space looks “happy,” but cozy and inviting at the same time. I bet her students love coming to school everyday and getting a chance to read in that tent! What a fun classroom! Well done, Whitney!
Don’t ya just love peeking into other teacher’s classrooms? I know I do!
