The day is FINALLY here to reveal everything that I’ve been working on for the last year!

There have been so many changes to Schoolgirl Style and we’ve grown tremendously!

First, we are no longer shipping out of my house (you can imagine the craziness last summer with over 100 boxes being shipped out everyday).  We also acquired a brand new shop to hold all of our inventory.  Believe me, it’s like a dream to finally operate out of a big, functional space AND the best part…we have room to grow!

Currently, we are only a shipping facility and, of course, it has also become the regular hangout spot for the SGS team!

Many of you have asked if we plan to open a retail space.  This MAY be in the works.  I’ve had so many requests for this, however, I am still on the fence.  We might try “shopping days” this summer where we invite local teachers to come in and purchase items, just to see how it goes.

In addition to our new shop, I sold my house, bought a new house, moved to a new town, and started a new job!  Whew!  Complete craziness!

One more change…

A new house means a NEW photo shoot room!  If you have followed me for a while now, you may know that in my previous home, I used the kid’s playroom to create my mini classrooms.  My new house now has an awesome photo shoot space, thanks to my dad!   He spent countless hours building walls, painting, and hanging bulletin boards for me.  He created an amazing space and I can’t wait for you to see it!  The best part…it is tucked away in a corner of my house and the room is no longer swallowing up our living space.  As you can imagine, our previous home was taken over by inventory, classroom staging, and employees.  We had lost our privacy and we were constantly engulfed by classroom decor!  These BIG changes have allowed us to get some normalcy in our lives and has helped keep our sanity!  Haha!

Speaking of photo shoots…

If you are new to SGS, I plan to reveal my room themes one day at a time.  This year, the reveal will be much shorter.  We have 9 rooms to show…the first one will be up at 12:00 a.m. EST (Monday) and the reveal will end on Wednesday, April 22nd.  Please let me know in the comment section below OR through email (schoolgirlstyle@gmail.com) if you have ideas to make it better for next year.  I’m wondering if you would like it earlier?  Maybe a preview of the themes?  I would like to accomodate YOU, so constructive criticism is always appreciated!

Okay.  Okay.  Enough talking…it’s time to get to the nitty gritty!

I wanted our shop to have a cleaner look AND I wanted it to be easier to navigate.  So, Lauren at Restored 316 Designs, gave me a cute, little update!  Of course, nothing can ever go smoothly (we literally finished this about five hours ago).   When we made the switch, the product listings became a little wonky, picture sizes are off, and parts of the descriptions were lost.  I’m sitting here having a slight “freak out” moment knowing that all of you are going to see this…and it’s not perfect…at least, not YET.  We are working away at this right now and fixing all of the issues.  Ugh.

We’ve listened!!!  At Schoolgirl Style, I take great pride in my printable decor.  I currently use a program to edit the files that leave the printables looking crisp and vibrant after you’ve printed them.  I never wanted to compromise the quality of my products by using an alternate way to edit, however, I received emails from customers explaining that the editing process was difficult for some.  Several people have asked that I create my collections in Power Point for easy editing.  After much consideration, I made the decision to do it.  When you purchase a new SGS collection, you will NOW have the option of choosing the original editing process OR you can edit in Power Point.  This will make your life SO much easier!  Whew!

You don’t have access to a color printer?  NO PROBLEM!  You don’t have time to print your SGS collection?  NO PROBLEM!

We can do the printing for you!

We have a new, fancy shmancy, commercial printer that will give you a high quality printable at a reasonable price!

You now have the option to purchase copies of any SGS printable and we will ship it right to your front door!

Again…just trying to make your life easier!

Blog_700x450_Planners

My personal planner is from A Modern Teacher…and I LOVE it!  I loved it so much that I asked April to create planners to coordinate with all of my collections!  You will now have the option to purchase a planner from A Modern Teacher right in the SGS shop…and we can print it for you!

We are making your life easier by avoiding multiple check-out processes.  You will be able to purchase everything you need in one simple step.

By the way, I checked out April’s planners and they are stunning!  I know you are dying to see it…I will reveal a planner each day with my theme, so stay tuned!

We started carrying caddies last year, however, I knew you wanted more organization solutions, so I went out and found some amazing products to help you get organized!

By the way, I use each and every one of these items in my OWN classroom and I LOVE them!

SchoolgirlStyle-60

A heavy duty, high quality storage basket in multiple colors…

I use these to hold office supplies and my guided reading materials.  Each basket is labeled by reading level…an easy way to keep my guided reading books separated and organized!

SchoolgirlStyle-34

We are calling this “The Wavy Tote.”  I use these in my classroom as individual book baskets for my students.  I also have five of these designated for each day of the week…I fill them in advance with my lessons for each particular day.  This keeps me super organized and lessons are easily accessible.

yellow file folder box

I use these “Get Organized” file boxes for SO many things in my classroom!  When I showed my classroom on my blog and on Facebook, I was shocked that someone noticed these on the counter and asked about them!  I use these for my student files,  I also use these to hold my writing folders and their handwriting books.  I absolutely LOVE these and think they are a classroom “must have!”

*Each file box comes with two black handles that are easily removable.

SchoolgirlStyle-122

These are our NEW “Jelly Totes!”  Oh my goodness…I LOVE these so much!  I use every size in my classroom.  The small totes are pefect for individual supply totes for your students and/or office supplies.  The middle size is perfect for individual student book baskets and office supplies.  The large tote is big enough for ANYTHING!  I have a nice teacher bag, however, I always end up using the large tote to carry all of my papers, teacher manuals, and books home.  It isn’t too deep where I lose everything.  I just find it so much easier to carry!

First of all, I love how vibrant they are.  From a design standpoint, they bring pops of color into your room when grouped or lined up together.  Dress it up with a colorful ribbon and a pretty tag  on the handle and you’ve created an attractive way to store your classroom supplies!  As far as functionality, they are sturdy, durable, waterproof, AND your office supplies won’t fall out, unlike a basket with holes.

I’ve used these items in mutliple photo shoots…check out the numerous ways you can use these in your classroom!

I know that classroom decor can be overwhelming.  I want to make it as easy as possible for you.  I chose all of my favorite products from several different companies and added them to my shop!  I started with 300 items, then it expanded to 500, now we’re over 700!  We’ve been adding and adding…and the SGS girls are now getting very tired and want me to STOP!

I think I’m done….for awhile, anyways.
