This quote pretty much sums up how I feel.
Creating Schoolgirl Style has been one of the biggest blessings of my life. Not only am I doing something that I’m passionate about, but I’m also inspiring teachers, giving back, and creating a little happiness in the lives of others. Nothing makes me feel better than knowing that I’ve helped someone in some way.
When The Bridge of Hope contacted me about donating my decor for classrooms in Africa, there wasn’t any hesitation…YES!!! I wanted this organization to have whatever they needed.
Later, I received these photos of the children and their current school…
Can you believe this? Talk about some SERIOUS heart melting! If it wasn’t for my own family, I would have loved to hop on a plane to go help them. I am truly in awe of these amazing people that are traveling to this country to bring happiness to these children. I am only a small piece of this act of kindness , but I am SO happy to have a part in it no matter how small it is.
I recently heard from Geri from The Bridge of Hope and she shared some new photos with me. Geri explained that they are getting ready to leave for Africa on April 4th and they have had a team of people cutting and laminating all of their new decor! HOW EXCITING!!! She also explained that she wanted to take something special for each teacher because they don’t have much to work with.
Geri used my classroom themes and some Modge Podge to create a journal, a teacher binder, and a clipboard to match the theme they are decorating their room with.
Take a look at all of the cuteness she created! I LOVE it!
I am so so anxious to see how the classrooms turn out. Geri promised me pictures when they return, so I will keep all of you updated! In the meantime, it would mean so much to me if you can stop by their website and support this organization.
