6 Tips to Style the Coziest Teacher Desk

The teacher desk such a special place where all the magic happens. Here are the 6 tips and tricks I use to to style the coziest teacher desk! Every teacher deserves a space that encourages organization equipped with all-the-teacher-tools, but is also inspired with the personal touches that feel like home.

One of my favorite spaces to style in a makeover is the teacher nook, and today I want to share the tips and tricks to style the coziest teacher desk! It’s such a special place where all the magic happens – the planning and organizing, the break-downs and regrouping, the dreaming and creating.

This space a safe spot for teachers – a home away from home. And every teacher deserves a nook that encourages organization equipped with all-the-teacher-tools, and is inspirational with personal touches that feel like home. So let’s dive into my 6 Tips to Style the Coziest Teacher Desk!

Tips and Tricks Step 1: Little Black Desk Set

The “flagship” of all the teacher desks I have designed is the Little Black Desk Set. This set includes pencil cups, folders, file holder, mini journals and more! The classic black and white palette makes it a BFF to all designs, and it unlocks the first step to great organization.

Step 2: Desk Mat

I ALWAYS include a desk mat. I created one specifically for Good Vibes, but in the past I have used the backgrounds to our calendar sets! The Bohemian Mood calendar background or the BFF calendar background {both pictured in these images}, would coordinate BEAUTIFULLY with any color palette or design.

Tip 3: Beautiful Lamp

Natural light is my jam, but second place, is a soft light. Oh the nostalgia as I think back to my early morning arrivals to school. I would leave the fluorescences off, turn on the lamps throughout the room, and enjoy the calm and quiet before the start to a busy day.

In the makeovers you will see lamps throughout the room, and I love adding one to the teacher desk. It’s the perfect way to add a pop of color, or a touch of style, all while bringing in a soft light to the classroom {I will forever pass on the fluorescent lights}. My favorite spots to hunt for lamps are Target or Lamps Plus

Tip 4: The Perfect Planner

What is a teacher desk without a planner?! I love our planners so so much because I’ve been so intentional about adding all the elements I would have wanted as a teacher! Plus, they are so easy on the eyes.

Tip 5: Add Florals or Greenery

Add a touch of cozy with a potted plant or pretty vase with flowers! This creates such warm vibes, and is instantly soothing and calming. I love using colors used in the classroom decor, making the teacher desk cohesive. I have found some real beauties on Amazon. And lately the plumes from World Market have been making my heart throb!

Tip 6: Family Photo

My absolute favorite tip: infuse all the warm-fuzzy feels with a family photo. The frame should coordinate with the accents you have chosen for your room. You could add a pop of color with the frame, or stick with the classic gold, black or white. I promise, having this photo of the people you love most in the world will be such a grounding piece, and a comfort throughout the hectic-ness of your teacher days.

I hope you enjoyed and were inspired by the 6 Tips to Style the Coziest Teacher Desk! I truly love the teacher nook – it’s the hub where all the magic happens, which creates the ripple effect of magical learning!

XOXO

Melanie
