Polka Dot Party

Well, I have to admit, I have an obsession.  A BIG obsession.  There just isn’t a polka dot that I don’t like.  I especially LOVE large, graphic polka dots.  I love the type of polka dots that make a statement and stand out!

I created this tone on tone polka dot pattern in some of my favorite bright colors.  Pair a pretty polka dot WITH chalkboard and you have a collection that is both trendy and playful!

BRIGHTS are all the rage right now.  “BRIGHTS” include lime green, turquoise/blue, hot pink, yellow, orange, and purple.

Schoolgirl Style Polka Dot Party Classroom Theme Collage

I’ve created this collection to be used TWO ways:

1.  Combine all of the colors to create a happy and pretty classroom environment.

(My polka dot lanterns coordinate perfectly with this collection!)

OR

2.  Choose your favorite color and decorate your classroom with a pretty BRIGHT dot for a classroom that reflects your personality.  *You can combine my Chalkboard Charm and my Organization In Style printables with this collection…it would look AWESOME!

These colors look gorgeous with the black accents and create a stunning contrast!

(I have poms, lanterns, and paper daisies to coordinate with each BRIGHT color, as well as BLACK lanterns and daisies to create a beautiful space! *Available in the Schoolgirl Style Shop)

I also went a step further and designed my birds to coordinate with the colors in this collection, so NOW you can add some cute birds as accents to your classroom design!

  1. I too am OBSESSED with polka dots! Anything polka dot and I have to buy it. I even did a little DIY to my chair last summer and painted it black with bright polka dots. I am planning on doing more this summer to get ready for my classroom next year. I am doing bright polka dots and owls next year!
    Love the new collection!!

  2. Every time you come up with something new, I say it’s my favorite. But this one is truly my FAVORITE!!! I am buying this right now! I’ve wanted a change from my “WILD” theme and was leaning toward brights or polka dots and THIS is IT!! LOVE it!!! Thanks for sharing your amazing creativity. 🙂

  3. I agree with Marissa above. I have older students and this would work for them too.

I just think you are so inspiring and love to see an e-mail with your latest designs!

  4. You know I just love polka dots, but well I am really into the stripes. I currently have chevron & stripes in my class and I was VERY scared at first but it seems to work at the moment. However I would love to incorporate some of these ideas with some stripes. I was wondering if this is something you would do with stripes. Or have you already done that and I missed it? I better go back and look. LOL

    As always it looks beautiful.

  5. Is the alphabet available in the alphabet line with double letters only, or are all letters available like the welcome banner?

  6. Question…
The paint cans, I have some, I would love to do something similar to what you did above. Did you just print the paper and line it from the inside?

  7. When people purchase these kits, are they digital files so that I have to print them? They are beautiful…but it’s looks like a lot of ink to use.

    • Hi Andrea! Yes, they are digital files that need to be printed. Stop by my website and read my FAQ section – it explains how it works and the benefits of using printables! 🙂

  8. I love your bright colors!!! I want to change my theme up sometime in the next school year or so. I want to switch over to the bright colors with some zebra print. What would you suggest? I love you sneak perks of your new ones. I wish you could come to NC and help me redo my classroom. 🙂 I have said that for years. Your amazing!!!

    • You are so sweet, Marie! Thank you!!! I love that idea! I could always do a custom order for you! 🙂

  9. I agree! We need the slim binder pieces to coordinate with the front binder covers! It would complete the look so beautifully!

  10. I love the polka dot collection! Just wanted to let you know that there is a spelling error on the “pencils” sign. If I order the file will it be corrected?

    • Yes, someone pointed that out. The labels come blank and are editable, so you can type in whatever words fit your needs. 🙂

      • Thanks! I thought I would want the polka dot theme but now I love the new chevron design!! Decisions…decisions…all of your work is beautiful!

  11. Would you please share your secret to covering the paint cans…mine turned out yuck!!

    • Oh my goodness…really easy! I should give directions to this, I am sorry! Just print out the paper and stick INSIDE of the can. You may need to trim the top to fit perfectly. I didn’t even use tape or adhesive!

  12. I absolutely adore polka dots! Thanks for all the ideas. I wish I could spirit you all the way to sunny South Africa to come and help me with my class
    Thanks for the inspiration.

  13. Hey Ladies,
Just curious for some feedback. I am a Kindergarten teacher. I was thinking of doing pink/turquoise polka dots and chalk board accent. Do you think this is appropriate for Kindergarten, I am really wondering if I should be doing more like Apples or Ladybugs.
    Thanks!

    • Here it is!!! 🙂 Well, I am a firm believer that you need to decorate your room in anything that makes you feel good. If you like pink/turquoise/black, then go for it! 🙂

  14. Was there a reason my question was deleted. It said undergoing moderation and then when I came back it was deleted. All I did was ask for an opinion two different designs(polka dots or primary apple) for my kindergarten classroom.

  15. Hi all, I l absolutely love all the Schoolgirl Stle work and snapped this set up when it came out. How gorgeous are all the dots?! I have a slight conundrum however. Having just bought the fab e-book (and ogled the ‘Bird Theme’ classroom for a long, long, long time) I can’t decide what to do about backing my bulletin boards if I go for the multi-coloured polka dot theme, which I really love. My thought is to go all chalkboard/black backing with various polka-dot borders, accents and details (with a few owls thrown in for good measure) but I worry that might be too dark. Any thoughts ladies? Thanks, Claire x

  16. I love your collections for classroom decor. You are so creative! I have a question: I teach kindergarten in a french immersion school. Would I be able to edit the months to french and could I edit the welcome banner to say “Bienvenue”?
    Thanks 🙂

  17. Please help! I can’t find the PDF for this wonderful set I purchased last night! Please help ladies!!!!

  18. Hello. I absolutely love the clear paint cans and would like to purchase some for my classroom. However when I searched for clear paint cans at both Micheal’s and Target I couldn’t find them. Can any help me find these?
