Chalkboard and Polka Dot Inspiration: Two years ago, I created the first chalkboard classroom decor collection! There wasn’t anything on the market like it. I was SO proud and so excited to offer this classroom classic! Fast forward to now, there are several chalkboard collections on the market that you could choose from, however, none of them are a traditional black and white theme. Black and white is SO simple, SO classic, and goes with EVERYTHING! I still love that first collection (Chalkboard Charm), but I wanted to give you MORE! I created pieces in this collection that you can’t find anywhere else. In addition, there is a big BONUS with this collection…POLKA DOTS! Essentially, you are buying two collections for the price of one. Originally, I planned to separate them, but after some thinking, I wanted you to have the option to mix and match the two themes!
Are you afraid of ink costs? Printing out a Schoolgirl Style collection would be the same price, and most likely cheaper, than purchasing a pre-made set in a store, however, did you know that a black and white set is significantly less expensive? You are getting an AMAZING value with this collection. If you are on a budget, there is also another way you can cut costs…photo copy the collection. Yep, I’m serious. My friend bought my chalkboard AND polka dot collection a couple years ago and she was on a very strict budget, so she printed out one piece of each item she liked, then photo copied them! You would have never guessed it! She used regular copy paper, then laminated each one for durability.
This collection is truly a great investment and it will never go out of style!
When I tell you that it literally goes with EVERYTHING…I wanted to show you what I mean. When you scroll through the pictures, you will see that I staged this room SIX different ways! I used different color combos and cutouts to create six very different looks. You can give yourself a room makeover year after year by changing the paper and border. This collection is SO fun and SO versatile!

These chalkboard letters are perfect to use as large monograms (or an alphabet line)…create a statement by displaying words in empty spaces around your classroom!

There are so many color combinations that you can come up with! This particular combination was chosen by my girlfriends. As I was decorating (I started the room with just a kelly green, black, and white theme), I decided that I wanted to try another color with it. I was torn between this royal blue or hot pink. I decided to send a picture to all of my friends for their opinion (for the record, I wanted hot pink). All of them (besides me and one other girl), chose the blue. So, BLUE it was!

Did you notice these cute locker tags in the lower right hand corner? My graphic designer drew these by hand! We created these with a ton of inspirational words…perfect to tie around pencils, attach to baskets, display on your desk, etc.
Top off your design with pretty poms, lanterns, or daisies from Schoolgirl Style!
I cut a 14 inch green pom and hot glued it to the center of a large black daisy! I love how it looks like a pretty flower hanging from your ceiling.

Our new 2015 collections all come with calendar sets! Each set has a calendar grid, calendar numbers and special occasion pieces, bulletin board accents, Days of the Week poster, and 12 month headers. I saved the calendar file to a thumb drive, took it to Staples and had them print each piece out on an 18 x24 sheet of paper. Laminate for durability, then use Velcro to attach each piece to your calendar.
This particular collection comes with TWO calendars! You get the polka dot calendar set and you also get a really cute chalkboard calendar as well! Choose your favorite one for your classroom OR use BOTH!

A black and white color scheme can be changed seasonally! Look at how I changed the border out and added a few accessories to decorate for Spring!
